[Focus on PIAC] 2013 PIAC was Launched on Sep. 12th

The Patent Information Annual Conference (PIAC) of China 2013 was launched on September 12 at the National Convention Center, Beijing. The conference is sponsored by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and hosted by Intellectual Property Publishing House (IPPH). Tian Lipu, the Commissioner of SIPO, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The theme for PIAC this year is "Patent Information and Innovation-driven Development Strategy". The conference brought together experts from over 10 foreign governments, agencies and organizations, such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). It also attracted more than 1500 participants from over 500 domestic and foreign well-known enterprises. The breakout sessions covered a wide range of topics, such as corporate practice of IPmanagement, analysis of typical cases on patent litigation, evaluation and monetization of patents, and patent search and analysis etc.. Besides, there were many other activities like round tables, workshops as well as trainings.

Founded in 2010, Patent Information Annual Conference (PIAC) of China is the largest patent information conference in Asia. As an annual international event in patent industry, PIAC is designed to provide an international platform for the exchange of patent information, promote patent information dissemination and effective utilization, and improve the capabilities of patent creation and application so as to strongly support economic restructuring and innovation.
